About the client

Dr. Ahmed El Shamy is a professor and consultant of pediatric and neonatal surgery in Cairo. His logo, a gentle fetus mark, reflects a practice that often meets families before their child is born, when a condition is picked up on a prenatal scan.

The challenge

Parents told that their newborn may need an operation arrive frightened and full of questions, often referred by an obstetrician with little time to explain. They need clear, compassionate information and an easy way to reach the surgeon. Behind the scenes, a surgical practice must also follow each child from first consultation through the operation to follow-up visits, something paper files and phone notes handle poorly.

What we delivered

• A website written for parents, explaining common pediatric and neonatal conditions and what surgery and recovery involve
• A profile setting out Prof. El Shamy’s academic and clinical role
